Adobe has expanded its partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and government-backed artificial intelligence company Humain, offering eligible citizens and residents a year of free access to its AI-powered creative tools.
Under the initiative announced Monday, more than 27 million people in Saudi Arabia will be eligible for 12 months of Adobe Firefly Standard and premium features from Adobe Express. Adobe valued the commitment at more than $4 billion.
The package will include access to a new image-generation model developed jointly by Adobe and Humain and designed specifically for Saudi users. The companies said the model would accept Arabic-language prompts and generate images aligned with Saudi cultural contexts.
Free access to the services is expected to begin rolling out by the end of 2026.
Humain, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund, has been working with Adobe to develop generative AI capabilities tailored to Arabic speakers and users across the wider Middle East.
The two companies initially announced their partnership in November, with a focus on improving the creation of Arabic-language and regionally relevant digital content.
For Adobe, the expanded Saudi initiative could also significantly increase adoption of its generative AI products as competition intensifies in the creative software market.
The company has increasingly incorporated Firefly, its family of generative AI models, across its creative applications as established software providers face growing competition from newer AI-focused design platforms.
