Karachi Mayor Dismisses Reports of Bilawal Bhutto’s Engagement, Wedding

Jarida Report

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Saturday dismissed social media reports claiming that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was preparing to get engaged or married, describing the reports as “incorrect and unfounded.”

Wahab issued the denial in a post on X after speculation about Bilawal’s personal life began circulating online.

“The news story regarding Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s engagement or wedding is incorrect and unfounded,” he said.

The rumours had claimed that Bilawal was preparing to marry a woman with links to a prominent European royal family and that discussions concerning the proposed marriage were taking place in Vienna.

Some social media posts also alleged that President Asif Ali Zardari had travelled to Austria accompanied by other family members to discuss the marriage and finalise a wedding date.

The unverified reports went on to suggest that a wedding could take place towards the end of the year and claimed that Bilawal’s purported fiancée was from Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.

No evidence was presented to substantiate the claims, and Wahab’s statement represents a direct denial from a senior PPP figure.

Liechtenstein is a small European principality situated between Switzerland and Austria, with Vaduz serving as its capital and administrative centre.
