Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met a multinational delegation of students from Harvard Business School during their visit to Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
The discussion covered regional and global developments, Pakistan’s security outlook and the country’s efforts to promote peace, stability and prosperity within the region and beyond.
During the interaction, Field Marshal Munir emphasised the role of education, skills development and entrepreneurship in preparing young people to navigate an increasingly volatile global environment.
He also stressed the importance of fact-based analysis, particularly at a time when social media and propaganda can influence public understanding of national and international developments.
According to ISPR, the visiting students spoke positively about their experiences in Pakistan, highlighting the openness and hospitality they had encountered during the trip. They also noted what they described as the country’s considerable potential and opportunities.
The meeting came days after Field Marshal Munir visited Tehran on August 24 as Pakistan continued diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran.
The Foreign Office on Thursday rejected reports that the army chief had travelled to Iran as an envoy of US President Donald Trump, describing the claims as misleading and factually incorrect.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the Tehran visit formed part of Pakistan’s broader engagement with friendly countries to encourage de-escalation, help end the military stalemate and explore a negotiated settlement to the crisis in the Middle East and Gulf.
