Seven Injured in Gun Attack on Balochistan Minister’s Convoy, Langau Unhurt

Seven people, including three Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) personnel, were injured when unidentified gunmen attacked the convoy of Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau in Mastung on Friday, police said.

Langau escaped unhurt in the attack, which occurred at Kund Umarani in the Khad Koocha area, south of Mastung.

The minister was travelling to Quetta after attending an Independence Day ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kalat when his convoy came under fire.

Police personnel accompanying the convoy engaged the attackers in an exchange of fire that lasted around 20 minutes, eventually forcing the assailants to flee the area.

Seven people were injured in the attack, including three ATF personnel. They were taken to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Langau later visited the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured personnel.

Authorities have not yet identified the attackers or disclosed a possible motive for the assault.
