Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with both sides agreeing to expand cooperation in trade, investment, information technology, energy and other key sectors.
The understanding was reached during a meeting in Islamabad on Monday between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and a visiting two-member U.S. congressional delegation comprising Congressmen Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar welcomed the delegation and highlighted the positive momentum in Pakistan-U.S. relations, saying there was considerable potential to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration in trade, investment, information technology, energy and other areas of mutual interest.
They also underscored the importance of sustained parliamentary engagement in promoting mutual trust and strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
