The Multan district administration has declared Tuesday, July 22, a local public holiday to mark the 787th Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani, one of the subcontinent’s most revered Sufi saints.
The announcement was made through an official notification issued by the district administration.
According to the notification, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem approved the holiday to facilitate the observance of the annual Urs celebrations.
All government offices and public sector institutions across Multan district will remain closed on July 22.
The annual Urs draws thousands of devotees from across Pakistan, who visit the shrine of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani to pay their respects and participate in religious ceremonies, prayers and spiritual gatherings commemorating the saint’s life and teachings.
