Trump Mourns Close Ally Lindsey Graham After Senator Dies at 71

Jarida Report

US Senator Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s closest political allies and a leading Republican voice in Congress, has died at the age of 71 after what his office described as a “brief and sudden illness.”

Graham passed away on Saturday evening, according to a statement released by his office early Sunday.

“Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period,” the statement said.

President Trump was among the first to pay tribute, describing Graham as a devoted public servant and loyal friend.

“Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, is dead! He was always working, and was a true American Patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed!!! … So sad!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump later praised Graham as a “true American patriot,” saying his commitment to public service had earned him widespread respect across Washington.

Graham served in the US Senate for more than two decades and was one of the Republican Party’s most influential figures on foreign policy, national security and judicial appointments.
