A K2 Airways cargo aircraft carrying five crew members is feared to have crashed after disappearing from radar near Ormara while returning to Karachi from Sharjah on Tuesday, prompting a large-scale search and rescue operation.
According to aviation sources, the Boeing 737 lost contact with Karachi Air Traffic Control at around 9:21pm after reporting a communications system failure. The aircraft had been returning from Sharjah following repairs.
The Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Maritime Security Agency and commercial vessels have joined the search operation. K2 Airways confirmed that five crew members were on board and said rescue efforts are continuing in coordination with aviation authorities.
