Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will depart on Friday for official visits to Iran and Türkiye, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, cabinet ministers and senior officials.
In Iran, the prime minister will attend the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and convey condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. He is also expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian people during the period of national mourning.
Following his visit to Iran, Shehbaz will travel to Istanbul at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The two leaders are expected to hold talks covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
