At least 14 children were killed and 18 others rescued after the roof of a tuition centre collapsed in the Kahna area of Lahore on Tuesday.
According to hospital officials, 19 injured children were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Kahna, while 14 children were brought dead. Hospital officials said five injured children remain under treatment and are now out of danger.
A woman who operated the tuition centre and her child were also seriously injured after becoming trapped beneath the rubble, according to the DIG Operations.
Police have taken two people into custody, including the owner of the tuition centre, as investigations into the incident continue.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the tragedy and directed authorities to investigate the cause of the collapse.
