5 Injured in Suspected Islamophobic Attack in Edinburgh

Jarida Report

A 36-year-old white Scottish man has been arrested after allegedly carrying out a series of attacks in Edinburgh, during which he reportedly roamed the city with a long weapon, smashed windows and assaulted several people, including Muslims leaving mosque prayers.

Police said at least five people were injured in the attacks.

The Scottish Association of Mosques condemned the incident as an “Islamophobic crime,” while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the suspect appeared to have been motivated by anti-Muslim hatred.

The suspect remains in police custody as authorities continue their investigation.
