Jarida Report

The Lahore High Court was informed on Wednesday that only five public toilets for transgender persons and 10 for people with disabilities are available across Punjab.

The information was provided in a report submitted by the secretary of the Local Government Department during proceedings on a petition seeking the construction of public toilets throughout the province.

Justice Raheel Kamran heard the petition, which was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel regarding the availability and development of public sanitation facilities in Punjab.

During the hearing, the local government secretary presented a detailed report on the province’s public toilet infrastructure, highlighting the limited number of facilities specifically designated for transgender persons and individuals with disabilities.
