The price of kerosene oil has been increased despite a reduction in petrol and diesel rates, with the revised prices taking effect immediately.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the price of kerosene has been raised by Rs1.49 per litre.
Following the increase, kerosene will now be sold at Rs282.19 per litre, up from the previous rate of Rs280.70 per litre. Last week, the fuel’s price was also increased by Rs8.70 per litre.
Meanwhile, the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2 per litre.
