Meta’s social media platforms, and , experienced widespread disruptions on Friday, leaving thousands of users unable to access services normally.
According to outage-tracking platform , reports of problems surged across both platforms, with users citing login failures, content-loading issues, messaging disruptions and app malfunctions.
For Facebook, more than half of the reported issues were linked to login problems, while other users reported difficulties with the app and messaging features. Instagram users also experienced widespread disruptions, with most complaints relating to app functionality.
Users in several countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Australia and the Philippines, reported difficulties accessing accounts and using key platform features.
Many users turned to to share their experiences, reporting problems refreshing feeds, viewing posts, conducting searches and accessing certain sections of the apps.
