A preliminary post-mortem report of a 17-year-old girl who died at the District Headquarters Hospital after being found critically injured has found no evidence of sexual assault or physical violence on her body.
According to the report, the post-mortem conducted at DHQ Hospital in Jhang stated that the girl died while unconscious and noted that she had been a diabetic patient using insulin for the past five years.
“Samples have been sent to Lahore for forensic analysis to determine the exact cause of death,” the report said.
The victim, identified as 17-year-old Eshal Fatima, was a resident of Sultan Colony and a first-year student at a private college. She died on June 7 after allegedly being kidnapped four days earlier.
A day earlier, Punjab Police arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping. Station House Officer Zeeshan Haider said police, in a joint operation with the Crime Control Department, arrested the main suspect, Khalil-ur-Rehman, in Lahore along with two alleged accomplices, Muhammad Hassan and Umais.
