The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued a heatwave alert, warning that moderate to severe heatwave conditions were expected to continue across most districts of Sindh until June 12.
The department said hot and humid weather was likely to persist in Karachi over the next three days, with sea breezes and westerly winds expected to affect the city.
According to the Met department, Karachi’s maximum temperature could reach 38°C on Tuesday, rise to 40°C on Wednesday and climb further to 42°C on Thursday.
“In several districts, including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Mohenjo-daro, Dadu and Khairpur, temperatures are expected to range between 48°C and 51°C until June 12,” it added.
