3 LESCO Employees Suspended After Khawaja Asif’s Bribery Allegation

Jarida Report

Two linemen and a line superintendent of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) have been suspended following a social media complaint by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif regarding alleged corruption in the replacement of a transformer.

According to the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Phool Nagar Division, Line Superintendent Muhammad Hussain, Lineman Shaukat, and Lineman Falak Sher have been suspended. The XEN stated that a 100-kilowatt transformer was being installed after a 200-kilowatt transformer had burned out.

However, local residents and a coordinator of Khawaja Asif allegedly stopped the LESCO staff from carrying out the installation. According to the official, he personally visited Chak 27 to investigate the matter, but no evidence was provided to show that LESCO employees had received any money.
