Ministry of National Health Services has dismissed reports claiming a sharp rise in HIV/AIDS cases in Islamabad, terming them inaccurate and without factual basis.
In an official statement issued on Monday, the ministry clarified that there is no evidence of an epidemic situation in the federal capital. It said the number of HIV cases reported each month remains within a normal and expected range.
Officials noted that fluctuations in reported cases are routine and should not be interpreted as a cause for alarm. They emphasized that increased public awareness about HIV/AIDS has encouraged more individuals to undergo screening, leading to higher detection rates.
