Iran has reiterated its stance on nuclear policy and regional security, while signaling a growing role for Pakistan in ongoing diplomatic efforts amid heightened tensions.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that Iran considers the use of nuclear capability for energy purposes its legitimate right and emphasised that the country will not compromise on its sovereign rights.
In a development significant for Islamabad, Baghaei revealed that Pakistan is playing an active intermediary role. He confirmed that Iran has exchanged messages with the United States through Pakistani channels.
According to the spokesperson, previous discussions in Islamabad included key issues such as a full ceasefire, the lifting of sanctions, and compensation for damages caused during recent tensions.
