Explanation: Once a competent court has decided a dispute, the same parties cannot reopen the same claim. This conserves judicial resources and provides legal certainty. There are exceptions for fraud or lack of jurisdiction.
Example: Two students settle a disciplinary hearing on plagiarism; later they cannot re-litigate the same alleged incident in campus courts.
