Trump announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the white house on the 25th of September and the meeting will be aimed at increasing collaboration in terms of trade and security.
The two leaders will hold talks on defence industrial relationship, regional relations and economic investment. White House assistants indicated that the visit would help in mollify the tension between the two countries due to months of bilateral tension regarding defence purchases and policy in the region.
Both sides were depicting the encounter as a pragmatic one; an opportunity to re-establish relations and attempt to move forward with mutual economic and security agendas.
