On March 4, 2025, a group of terrorists attacked the Bannu Cantonment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The assault began when suicide bombers rammed two explosives-laden vehicles into the entrance gate, triggering massive explosions. Subsequently, multiple terrorists attempted to storm the compound but were engaged in a gunfight by security forces present at the scene.
The attack resulted in at least nine fatalities and 25 injuries, including civilians. Among the deceased were four children residing near the blast site. The assailants breached a wall, allowing other attackers to enter the compound before being repelled.Â
The Jaish Al-Fursan group, affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack. This incident marks the third militant assault in Pakistan since the start of Ramadan, highlighting escalating security challenges in the region.Â
