75 Pakistanis Evacuated to Rwanda Amid Escalating Congo Conflict: FO”

On January 30, 2025, Pakistan’s Foreign Office reported that approximately 75 Pakistani nationals have been relocated to Rwanda due to escalating conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Initially, around 150 Pakistanis were stranded in Goma, North Kivu province, as violence intensified. With the assistance of Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Kigali, Ambassador Naeemullah Khan, Rwandan authorities permitted their entry into Rwanda. The High Commission in Kigali has provided accommodation and food for those affected and is actively reaching out to other Pakistani citizens in need. More Pakistanis are expected to cross into Rwanda in the coming days. The High Commission staff is in contact with every individual who has requested assistance and is also reaching out to Pakistanis in the border city of Bukavu.
