On April 6, 2025, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA), with police assistance, seized and destroyed 420 kilograms of meat from dead animals near Darya Khan in Punjab. Acting on a tip-off, authorities conducted a raid where a veterinary doctor confirmed that the meat was from animals that had died prior to slaughter. A case has been registered against the accused.
