22 Ahmadiyya Community Members Arrested in Sialkot for Friday Prayers

On March 1, 2025, Daska police in Sialkot arrested 22 members of the Ahmadiyya community for offering Friday prayers at their worship place, Baitul Zikr. The arrests followed a complaint under Section 298(c) of the Pakistan Penal Code, which restricts Ahmadis from posing as Muslims or practicing Islamic rituals. Community spokesperson Aamir Mahmood stated that the members were peacefully observing their religious sermons when confronted by extremists. He emphasized that their activities were confined to a designated area, asserting their constitutional right to worship.
