As of February 17, 2025, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has demolished 151 bunkers in Kurram district, with plans to complete the process by March 23. These demolitions aim to address longstanding land disputes that have resulted in at least 189 deaths since October 2024. To alleviate shortages caused by road blockades, nine convoys with 718 vehicles carrying essential goods have been dispatched, and helicopter services have transported approximately 4,000 individuals. Additionally, a special security force is being established to secure Kurram Road, with 120 security posts planned and 407 personnel to be recruited. An estimated Rs 480 million has been allocated for the restoration of the destroyed Bagan Bazaar.
